Taylor Swift Debuts Bold New Haircut At Wedding

Newlywed Taylor Swift turned heads with a brand new look this week: a much shorter haircut, debuted at a glamorous wedding in the UK. Taylor was there to celebrate pals Laura Sisk and Oli Jacobs tying the knot, and she came dressed to impress in a navy tulle gown with a string of pearls. She wasn't the only famous face there either, with best mates Sabrina Carpenter and Jack Antonoff also on the guest list, making it a proper star-studded do. Taylor also showed off her sparkling wedding ring, just one month after marrying Travis Kelce herself. Fans have been buzzing over the surprise new hairstyle ever since the pictures dropped, so don't be shocked if the shorter cut becomes her signature look for the rest of the year.

KATSEYE Close In On First UK Top 10

KATSEYE are on the verge of a massive first: their song Animal is closing in on a spot in the UK Top 10, a chart position the pop wonder group have never hit before. Official Charts flagged the tune's climb this week, and if it lands in the top 10 it will be a huge milestone for the group, who have been taking over the pop world one release at a time. The buzz around Animal keeps building, and this chart push shows the group's popularity stretching well beyond the US. It is exactly the kind of moment that could open the door to even bigger things in the UK, think arena tours and more chart-topping singles down the line. Keep an eye on the charts this week to see if KATSEYE make history.

Today's Lesson: The Back Walkover

real Poppie words

Warm up first

  1. Warm up your wrists, shoulders, back and legs really well, on a soft mat. Never do this cold.
  2. A back walkover goes backwards, so you can't see where you're going. Always have a grown-up spotting your back, every single time.

What you need first

  1. Get your bridge, bridge kick-over and splits really strong first. A back walkover is a moving bridge, so a comfy bridge is a must.
  2. Practise the bridge kick-over lots. From a bridge, kick one leg up and over and stand up. That's the second half of your walkover.

The back walkover

  1. Stand tall on a soft mat, arms up by your ears. Lift your strong leg out in front, toe pointed.
  2. Reach your arms back over your head and lower into a bridge. Go slowly, with your grown-up holding your back.
  3. When your hands reach the mat, kick your front leg up and over into a handstand.
  4. Let your other leg follow, and stand up tall.

Build it safely

  1. Go slowly every time, with your grown-up spotting, until you can really control it. Even then, always on something soft.
  2. Keep your arms strong and your legs straight, and point those toes. Never rush a back walkover.

Coach's tip: master your bridge kick-over first, and always have a grown-up spotting your back. On something soft! ๐Ÿ’œ

Recipe 3: Fluffy Pancakes

real Poppie words

Before you start

  1. Wash your hands.
  2. Get everything out: 1 mug of self-raising flour, 1 mug of milk, 1 egg, a spoon of sugar, and a little butter for the pan. A whisk and a ladle too.

Make the batter

  1. Flour and sugar into a bowl, then crack the egg into the middle.
  2. Pour in about half the milk and whisk it into a thick paste with no lumps, then whisk in the rest until it's smooth and pours off the whisk like thick cream.
  3. Let it sit for a few minutes while the pan heats. A little rest makes them fluffier.

Cook them

  1. Low to medium heat, and a tiny bit of butter rubbed round the pan. Too hot and they burn before they cook in the middle.
  2. Ladle in a puddle of batter and don't touch it. Wait until you see little bubbles pop all over the top.
  3. Now flip it (ask a grown-up the first couple of times) and give it another minute until it's golden underneath.
  4. Keep them warm on a plate while you cook the rest.

The best bit

  1. Stack them up and pile on whatever you love: berries, banana, a drizzle of honey or maple syrup, or a little chocolate spread.

Chef's tip: wait for the bubbles before you flip. When little bubbles pop all over the top, that's the pancake telling you it's ready. Flip too soon and it tears. ๐Ÿฅž

Funny Story of the Day ๐Ÿ˜„

Snake Slithers Across Bonnet Of Moving Car

A snake gave drivers in Tennessee the fright and the giggles of their lives when it slithered right across the bonnet of a moving car. The wild moment was caught on camera, and the video has since had people in stitches, and probably checking under their bonnets before every drive.
