Lewis Capaldi Closes Comeback Tour Where It Once Stopped

Lewis Capaldi has finally closed out his comeback tour at Wythenshawe Park in Manchester, and honestly, it's the ultimate full circle moment. Three years ago he had to pull his show at that very venue because he wasn't well enough to perform, so walking back out on that same stage was massive. The gig was such a big deal that roads around the park had to close and fans queuing up had a full list of bag rules to follow. Lewis has been on a roll lately too, even sitting down at a piano to bash out a Celtic football anthem for fans. Now his comeback tour is officially done and dusted, and with whispers of a brand new album on the way, the next chapter looks even more exciting.

KATSEYE Hit Career-Best No. 2 On UK Albums Chart

KATSEYE have smashed their own record, landing at number two on the British albums chart, their best ever position in the UK. It's the perfect follow-up to a brilliant run of hits, with Hootie Frutti officially becoming their fifth Top 40 single of the year alone. That's a serious strike rate, and it shows the group are turning into a genuine pop force rather than a flash in the pan. Charts officials even released a list of KATSEYE's twenty biggest songs so far, and looking at it, their catalogue is already stacked with hits. With the record already at its best ever peak, don't be surprised if that number two spot turns into a number one before too long.

Sabrina Carpenter Gets The VFX Muppet Treatment

Sabrina Carpenter has been given the full Muppet treatment, and the wizardry behind it involves some serious behind-the-scenes talent. Emmy-winning visual effects artist Kelly Lyon has been opening up about how her team blended Sabrina into the world of Disney+'s Muppet Show, mixing real footage with clever effects to make it look completely seamless. It's the kind of movie magic that looks effortless on screen but takes serious skill behind the scenes, which is exactly why Kelly picked up an Emmy for her craft in the first place. Sharing a screen with some of the most beloved puppets in entertainment is a pretty brilliant way to spend a day at work. Keep an eye out for Sabrina's Muppet moment when it airs on Disney+.

Today's Lesson: The Forward Roll

real Poppie words

Warm up first

  1. Warm up your neck, shoulders and back gently. Always roll on a soft mat or carpet, never a hard floor.
  2. Find a clear space with nothing to bump into.

Get the shape

  1. Crouch down small. Put your hands flat on the mat in front of you, about shoulder-width apart.
  2. Tuck your chin right into your chest. This is the most important bit: it keeps the back of your head touching the mat, never the top.
  3. Stay round like a little ball the whole way over.

The roll

  1. Push gently off your feet and take your weight on your hands.
  2. Roll forward over the back of your shoulders, not the top of your head.
  3. Keep your knees tucked in tight to your chest as you roll all the way over.

Come up like a gymnast

  1. As you roll up, reach your arms forward and try to stand up without using your hands. That's the strong finish.
  2. Practise the tuck slowly first. A neat little ball beats a fast messy roll every time.

Coach's tip: tuck your chin right into your chest and stay round like a little ball. That's the whole secret. And always on something soft! ๐Ÿ’œ

Recipe 4: Homemade Pizza

real Poppie words

Before you start

  1. Wash your hands.
  2. Get everything out: a pizza base (I like making my own thin crispy one, but a shop-bought base is perfect too), a small tin of passata or tomato sauce, a ball of mozzarella or a bag of grated cheese, and whatever toppings you fancy.

The sauce

  1. Turn the oven on to hot, about 220ยฐC, so it's ready when you are.
  2. Spoon a few spoons of tomato sauce onto the base and spread it round with the back of the spoon, leaving a little gap round the edge for the crust. Don't drown it: a thin layer is best.

Build it

  1. Tear or sprinkle the cheese all over.
  2. Add your toppings, and here's the chef's rule: don't pile on too much or the middle goes soggy. A few good things beat a mountain of everything.

Bake it

  1. Carefully onto a tray and into the hot oven. A grown-up helps with the oven.
  2. About 10 to 12 minutes, until the cheese is bubbling and the edges are golden. A thin homemade base cooks faster, so check it a couple of minutes early.
  3. Let it cool for a minute (the cheese is like lava straight out), then slice it up with a pizza cutter or clean scissors.

Chef's tip: less is more with toppings. A soggy middle comes from too much sauce and too much stuff piled on. Go easy and the base stays lovely and crisp. ๐Ÿ•

Ring Flushed Down Train Toilet Miraculously Returned

A ring got flushed straight down a toilet on a New Jersey train, and everyone assumed that was that. Somehow, against all odds, it was found and returned safely to its owner. Sometimes the most unlikely things really do turn up again, and this one takes some beating.
