Sabrina Carpenter Wins First Emmy, Halfway To EGOT

Sabrina Carpenter has just won her very first Emmy Award, and it means she is now officially halfway to an EGOT. An EGOT is the nickname for winning an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony award, something only a tiny number of stars in history have ever pulled off. With this shiny new Emmy added to her collection, Sabrina now has two of the four trophies ticked off the list. It's proof that she's not just a chart-topping singer, she's becoming one of the most decorated stars in entertainment. Keep an eye out to see which award she goes for next, because at this rate an EGOT might not be far away.

Olivia Dean To Headline New Ocean Way Festival

Olivia Dean has landed another huge headline slot, this time at the brand new Ocean Way Festival. She'll be topping the bill alongside rock legends The Killers, which is a serious sign of how far her career has climbed this year. Being asked to headline an inaugural festival, meaning the very first time it's ever been held, is a big vote of confidence from organisers. It puts her name up in lights next to one of the biggest bands in the world, on a totally new stage with no history to live up to yet. For Olivia Dean fans, it's another reminder that 2026 has turned into her breakout year, with more huge festival slots seemingly landing every week.

Today's Lesson: The Chin Stand

real Poppie words

Warm up first

  1. Warm up your back gently first with some cat stretches and a soft bridge, and lie on a soft mat, never a hard floor.
  2. Only try this once your bridge feels comfy, because it comes from the same bendy back.

Picture the shape (it is NOT a cobra!)

  1. A chin stand is not a cobra. In a cobra your legs stay flat on the floor. In a chin stand your hips lift up high and your back bends so much that your feet come up and over toward your head. You balance on your chest, with your chin gently forward and your hands pressing the mat to steady you. Think of your body as a big deep arch with your bottom up in the air.

Get into it slowly

  1. Kneel on the mat and put your forearms flat down in front of you, elbows about shoulder-width apart.
  2. Tuck your toes under and lift your hips up high toward the ceiling, so you're balanced on your forearms with your bottom in the air, a bit like a downward dog, but resting on your forearms.
  3. Keeping your hips lifted, let your chest sink gently down and forward so your back begins to arch. Your weight comes onto your chest and your hands press the mat to hold you steady. Never any weight on your neck.
  4. Now bend your knees and let your feet drop down behind you, toward the back of your head, as your back arches a little more.

How far to go

  1. Let your feet come toward your head only as far as feels like a gentle stretch, never a sharp pain. If it hurts, come down slowly. This is a really bendy one, so go a tiny bit at a time.

Get bendier over time

  1. Hold for just a few seconds at first, then rest. This is a weeks-not-days one: a little more each time.
  2. Keep breathing and stay relaxed. Bendy backs come from calm, gentle practice, never from forcing it.

Coach's tip: this is a bendy one, so little and often, a gentle stretch, never a push, and never any weight on your neck. Always on something soft! ๐Ÿ’œ

Recipe 3: Fluffy Pancakes

real Poppie words

Before you start

  1. Wash your hands.
  2. Get everything out: 1 mug of self-raising flour, 1 mug of milk, 1 egg, a spoon of sugar, and a little butter for the pan. A whisk and a ladle too.

Make the batter

  1. Flour and sugar into a bowl, then crack the egg into the middle.
  2. Pour in about half the milk and whisk it into a thick paste with no lumps, then whisk in the rest until it's smooth and pours off the whisk like thick cream.
  3. Let it sit for a few minutes while the pan heats. A little rest makes them fluffier.

Cook them

  1. Low to medium heat, and a tiny bit of butter rubbed round the pan. Too hot and they burn before they cook in the middle.
  2. Ladle in a puddle of batter and don't touch it. Wait until you see little bubbles pop all over the top.
  3. Now flip it (ask a grown-up the first couple of times) and give it another minute until it's golden underneath.
  4. Keep them warm on a plate while you cook the rest.

The best bit

  1. Stack them up and pile on whatever you love: berries, banana, a drizzle of honey or maple syrup, or a little chocolate spread.

Chef's tip: wait for the bubbles before you flip. When little bubbles pop all over the top, that's the pancake telling you it's ready. Flip too soon and it tears. ๐Ÿฅž

Funny Story of the Day ๐Ÿ˜„

Deer Breaks Into Florida Home, Has The Best Day

A wild deer somehow wandered straight into a Florida family's house, made itself at home in the bathroom, then hopped in the swimming pool for a splash. Nobody saw it coming, but it might just be the most relaxed uninvited guest ever.
