Olivia Rodrigo Breaks A New Record Before Her Tour

Olivia Rodrigo has set a brand new record with her track 'maggots for brains', and the timing could not be better. The song has just smashed through right as she gears up for her next big tour, so fans have got double the reason to celebrate. Trust Olivia to have a song called 'maggots for brains' break records, because she has never exactly played it safe with her titles. It says a lot about how loyal her fanbase is that even her weirdest song ideas turn into genuine chart moments. If this is the energy she is bringing before the tour has even started, the actual shows are going to be something else entirely. Keep your eyes peeled, because tour season with Olivia Rodrigo is about to get very loud.

KATSEYE Headlines Hinterland Festival With Special Firsts

KATSEYE closed out Hinterland Music Festival as the Thursday headliners, and by all accounts it was a night to remember. The group themselves called it 'truly epic', saying the performance was full of special firsts they had never experienced before. Headlining a festival this size is a huge milestone, and it shows just how fast their fanbase has grown this year. Off the back of the show, excitement is only building, with tickets for their upcoming Wild Hearts documentary now on sale too. Between festival headline sets and their own film hitting cinemas, KATSEYE are having an absolutely massive summer. If this is the pace they are keeping up, there is no telling how big they will be by the end of the year.

Lewis Capaldi Hosts Free Concert At Huge London Venue

Lewis Capaldi is at it again, and this time he has treated fans to a free concert at one of London's biggest venues. He has been praised for the gesture, with people loving that he is using his platform to give something back rather than just cashing in on ticket sales. It fits perfectly with the kind of artist Lewis has always been, the sort who would rather surprise people with a gig than make a big fuss about it. Free shows at venues this size do not come along often, so anyone who managed to get in is a very lucky fan indeed. It is proof that even as his career gets bigger, Lewis has not lost the down to earth side that made everyone love him in the first place. Here is hoping this is not the last surprise he has got planned for the summer.

Today's Lesson: The Scorpion

real Poppie words

Warm up first

  1. The scorpion is a bendy backbend with a balance. Warm your back and legs up gently first with cat stretches and a soft bridge, on a mat.
  2. Build this once your bridge and chin stand feel comfy. Your bendy back is what makes the scorpion work.

Build your bendy back

  1. Lie on your tummy on the mat.
  2. Bend your knees so your feet come up toward your head.
  3. Reach back and gently hold your feet. Draw them a tiny bit closer over the weeks. This is the scorpion shape, lying down where it's nice and easy.

Stand it up

  1. Stand tall on your strong leg, near a wall or something you can hold for balance.
  2. Bend your other knee and lift that foot up behind you.
  3. Reach a hand back to catch your foot and gently draw it up toward your head. The lifted leg stays bent โ€” that's what makes it a scorpion.
  4. Only draw it as far as feels like a gentle stretch, never a sharp pain. Hold the wall or a helper until your balance feels steady.

Get bendier over time

  1. Hold for just a few seconds, then come out slowly. Swap and do the other leg โ€” always both sides.
  2. A tiny bit more each time, over weeks. Keep working your bridge and chin stand too โ€” that's the secret to a beautiful scorpion.

Coach's tip: build it slowly from your bridge โ€” a gentle stretch, never a sharp pain, weeks not days. Always on something soft! ๐Ÿ’œ

Recipe 3: Fluffy Pancakes

real Poppie words

Before you start

  1. Wash your hands.
  2. Get everything out: 1 mug of self-raising flour, 1 mug of milk, 1 egg, a spoon of sugar, and a little butter for the pan. A whisk and a ladle too.

Make the batter

  1. Flour and sugar into a bowl, then crack the egg into the middle.
  2. Pour in about half the milk and whisk it into a thick paste with no lumps, then whisk in the rest until it's smooth and pours off the whisk like thick cream.
  3. Let it sit for a few minutes while the pan heats โ€” a little rest makes them fluffier.

Cook them

  1. Low to medium heat, and a tiny bit of butter rubbed round the pan. Too hot and they burn before they cook in the middle.
  2. Ladle in a puddle of batter and don't touch it โ€” wait until you see little bubbles pop all over the top.
  3. Now flip it (ask a grown-up the first couple of times) and give it another minute until it's golden underneath.
  4. Keep them warm on a plate while you cook the rest.

The best bit

  1. Stack them up and pile on whatever you love: berries, banana, a drizzle of honey or maple syrup, or a little chocolate spread.

Chef's tip: wait for the bubbles before you flip. When little bubbles pop all over the top, that's the pancake telling you it's ready. Flip too soon and it tears. ๐Ÿฅž

Blindfolded Speedcuber Smashes Rubik's Cube Record

A speedcuber just did something wild: solved a Rubik's Cube in 11.56 seconds while wearing a blindfold. No peeking, no shortcuts, just pure memory and insanely fast fingers. It is one of those clips you will want to watch twice, because it genuinely does not look possible.
