Taylor Swift Surprises Fans With First Post-Wedding Performance

Taylor Swift stepped back on stage for the first time since her wedding to Travis Kelce, and she made it count. At the Grammy Museum's Icon Sessions event, she sat down at the piano and whipped up a surprise mash-up in the style of her Eras Tour, blending old favourites into one dreamy medley. Taylor also opened up about her country roots, saying she feels more loyal to them than ever, a lovely nod to where her career began before pop superstardom took over. Fans who'd been waiting for any sign of what she's up to post-wedding finally got their answer, wrapped in nostalgia and a grand piano. It's a small taste of what might be coming next, so keep your ears open for more clues soon.

Olivia Rodrigo Drops Surprise New Song 'Serena Joy'

Olivia Rodrigo has a brand new song out and it's called Serena Joy. She first teased it right before a big festival appearance, then did something properly special: fans could only get it on an exclusive CD before it finally landed on streaming for everyone. That kind of rollout had fans talking non-stop, hunting down copies and sharing clips the second they got their hands on it. Now that Serena Joy is officially out everywhere, you can stream it any time you fancy. It's the first new music we've heard from her in a while, so expect it to be on repeat for weeks. Surprise drops like this usually mean there's more where that came from, so keep watching this space.

KATSEYE's Sold-Out Arena Tour Kicks Off September 1

Get ready, because KATSEYE's very first arena tour kicks off on the 1st of September, and it's already completely sold out. It's the perfect next step after their EP WILD stormed to the top of the charts, becoming the biggest girl group debut in years. Every single ticket for the tour sold out fast, which shows just how much KATSEYE's fanbase has grown this year. Fans who bagged a seat are in for a huge show, and everyone else will be watching the clips and reviews flood in the second it kicks off. If the tour goes anything like their chart run has gone, it's set to be a proper moment for the group. September the 1st cannot come soon enough.

Today's Lesson: The Chin Stand

real Poppie words

Warm up first

  1. Warm up your back gently first with some cat stretches and a soft bridge, and lie on a soft mat, never a hard floor.
  2. Only try this once your bridge feels comfy, because it comes from the same bendy back.

Picture the shape (it is NOT a cobra!)

  1. A chin stand is not a cobra. In a cobra your legs stay flat on the floor. In a chin stand your hips lift up high and your back bends so much that your feet come up and over toward your head. You balance on your chest, with your chin gently forward and your hands pressing the mat to steady you. Think of your body as a big deep arch with your bottom up in the air.

Get into it slowly

  1. Kneel on the mat and put your forearms flat down in front of you, elbows about shoulder-width apart.
  2. Tuck your toes under and lift your hips up high toward the ceiling, so you're balanced on your forearms with your bottom in the air, a bit like a downward dog, but resting on your forearms.
  3. Keeping your hips lifted, let your chest sink gently down and forward so your back begins to arch. Your weight comes onto your chest and your hands press the mat to hold you steady. Never any weight on your neck.
  4. Now bend your knees and let your feet drop down behind you, toward the back of your head, as your back arches a little more.

How far to go

  1. Let your feet come toward your head only as far as feels like a gentle stretch, never a sharp pain. If it hurts, come down slowly. This is a really bendy one, so go a tiny bit at a time.

Get bendier over time

  1. Hold for just a few seconds at first, then rest. This is a weeks-not-days one: a little more each time.
  2. Keep breathing and stay relaxed. Bendy backs come from calm, gentle practice, never from forcing it.

Coach's tip: this is a bendy one, so little and often, a gentle stretch, never a push, and never any weight on your neck. Always on something soft! ๐Ÿ’œ

Recipe 1: How to Cook a Steak

real Poppie words

Before you start

  1. Wash your hands.
  2. Take your steak out and put it on a chopping board or plate.

Season it

  1. Heat your pan, around medium to high heat.
  2. Salt and pepper: rub it in, massage it a bit, then do the other side.
  3. Put the olive oil on the steak, not on the pan.

Cook it

  1. Steak onto the pan.
  2. One minute on each side. Keep flipping until it looks done the way you like it: well done, medium rare, however you like your steak.
  3. Take it off the pan and let it cool for a bit.
  4. Then you can cut your steak up.

Chef's tip: the oil goes on the steak, not the pan. That's how the pros do it. ๐Ÿณ
