KATSEYE Land Four Songs On The Billboard Hot 100

KATSEYE have just pulled off something huge: four of their songs are sitting on the Billboard Hot 100 all at once. That's the chart tracking the biggest singles in the US, so having that many tracks from one group up there together is a proper big deal. It comes hot on the heels of their album WILD topping the US charts, and now, according to Forbes, one of their singles is climbing higher than ever, marking their biggest hit yet. For a group that only broke through recently, landing four songs on one chart at the same time shows just how fast their fanbase, the EYEKONS, is growing. Keep an ear out too, because if that single keeps climbing, KATSEYE could be about to smash another record before the summer's even out.

Mini Benson Boone Steals The Show In New Orleans

A four-year-old superfan turned heads at Benson Boone's New Orleans show after turning up dressed exactly like the star himself, outfit and all. The mini lookalike went viral for being the cutest fan in the crowd, and it's easy to see why people are obsessed, because Boone put on one of his most energetic shows yet that night. He was leaping about the stage and pulling off his signature backflips all evening, with NOLA.com calling it a 'flippin' good' performance. It's proof that Boone's fanbase spans every age, from tiny superfans dressing up in the crowd to whole arenas singing every single word back at him. If this is the energy he brings to a random tour stop, his upcoming Wanted Man Tour dates are going to be unmissable.

Sabrina Carpenter Opens Pop-Up Shop In Toronto

Sabrina Carpenter has revealed the surprise she's been teasing all week, and it's a merch pop-up shop opening in Toronto. It's all to celebrate one year since she released Man's Best Friend, the album that's been such a massive hit for her over the past twelve months. Pop-up shops like this usually mean exclusive merchandise you won't find anywhere else, so fans lucky enough to be nearby are already planning their trip. It's a lovely way to mark an album anniversary, turning a special date into something fans can actually walk into and be part of, rather than just a post online. Keep watching her socials too, because after a tease this good, more anniversary surprises could still be on the way.

Today's Lesson: The Scorpion

real Poppie words

Warm up first

  1. The scorpion is a bendy backbend with a balance. Warm your back and legs up gently first with cat stretches and a soft bridge, on a mat.
  2. Build this once your bridge and chin stand feel comfy. Your bendy back is what makes the scorpion work.

Build your bendy back

  1. Lie on your tummy on the mat.
  2. Bend your knees so your feet come up toward your head.
  3. Reach back and gently hold your feet. Draw them a tiny bit closer over the weeks. This is the scorpion shape, lying down where it's nice and easy.

Stand it up

  1. Stand tall on your strong leg, near a wall or something you can hold for balance.
  2. Bend your other knee and lift that foot up behind you.
  3. Reach a hand back to catch your foot and gently draw it up toward your head. The lifted leg stays bent: that's what makes it a scorpion.
  4. Only draw it as far as feels like a gentle stretch, never a sharp pain. Hold the wall or a helper until your balance feels steady.

Get bendier over time

  1. Hold for just a few seconds, then come out slowly. Swap and do the other leg. Always both sides.
  2. A tiny bit more each time, over weeks. Keep working your bridge and chin stand too: that's the secret to a beautiful scorpion.

Coach's tip: build it slowly from your bridge. A gentle stretch, never a sharp pain, weeks not days. Always on something soft! ๐Ÿ’œ

Recipe 2: Spaghetti Carbonara

real Poppie words

Before you start

  1. Wash your hands.
  2. Get everything out: spaghetti, bacon, 2 eggs, a big handful of grated pecorino romano (or a mix of 1/3 parmigiano and 2/3 pecorino), and the pepper grinder.

The pasta

  1. Big pot of water on to boil with a good pinch of salt.
  2. When it's properly bubbling, spaghetti in. Set a timer for what the packet says, usually about 10 minutes.

The bacon

  1. While the pasta cooks, snip the bacon into little pieces with scissors (way easier than a knife).
  2. Into a big pan on medium heat until it's golden and a little bit crispy. If you like mushrooms, slice a few in with the bacon. They make it even better.

The sauce

  1. Crack the 2 eggs into a bowl, add the cheese and loads of black pepper, and mix it up with a fork. That's the sauce: no cream in a real carbonara, ever.
  2. Just before the pasta is done, scoop out half a mug of the cooking water and keep it. You'll want it in a minute.

Put it together

  1. Drain the spaghetti and tip it into the bacon pan. Now take the pan OFF the heat.
  2. Pour in the egg mix and keep everything moving: the heat of the pasta cooks the sauce until it goes silky.
  3. Too thick? Add a splash of that pasta water you saved.
  4. Into a big bowl, extra cheese on top, done.

Chef's tip: the pan comes OFF the heat before the eggs go in. That's the whole secret. Eggs in a hot pan turn into scrambled eggs, and scrambled eggs are for breakfast. ๐Ÿ

Dad And Son Smash Water Balloon World Record

A dad and his son just broke the world record for throwing and catching a water balloon, launching it further than anyone else ever has without it bursting. It took skill, precision and probably a few soggy fails along the way, but they nailed the perfect catch. Splashtastic!
