LEGO Teams Up With Olivia Rodrigo For New Collection

LEGO has joined forces with Grammy Award winner Olivia Rodrigo to build a brand new collection inspired by her career so far. It is a proper mash-up of two very different worlds, brick building and pop stardom, and it is exactly the kind of quirky crossover that gets fans talking. Olivia's Grammy win already proved she is one of music's most exciting names, and now LEGO wants to celebrate that journey in plastic form. It is a fun reminder that being a massive pop star these days means more than just music, it means fashion drops, toy collabs and everything in between. Nothing has been said yet about exactly what pieces will be in the set, but with Olivia's flair for bold, colourful style, it is bound to look brilliant. Watch this space for the official reveal.

KATSEYE have ticked off a huge career first, taking to the stage for their debut performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Getting booked for one of the biggest stages in American television is no small thing, and it shows just how far the group have come. Late night TV slots like this one are a proper rite of passage for artists on the rise, and stepping into that spotlight says a lot about their year so far. It is the kind of performance that can turn casual listeners into proper fans overnight. Expect the clips and photos to be doing the rounds on fan pages for weeks to come.

Olivia Dean's Early Project Nearly Hits Number One

An early project from Olivia Dean's back catalogue has only just properly landed on the charts, and it came agonisingly close to hitting the very top spot. It is not every day that something from earlier in an artist's career gets a moment like this, long after it was first made. The near miss shows just how much love there is out there for anything with Olivia's name attached right now, old or new. For fans who have followed her from the very start, watching this early work finally get its due must feel like a proper full circle moment. It also says everything about her current pulling power that a project from years back can nearly top the charts against all of today's big new releases. Keep an eye on the charts, because at this rate a number one feels close for Olivia in whatever she puts out next.

Today's Lesson: The Chin Stand

real Poppie words

Warm up first

  1. Warm up your back gently first with some cat stretches and a soft bridge, and lie on a soft mat, never a hard floor.
  2. Only try this once your bridge feels comfy, because it comes from the same bendy back.

Picture the shape (it is NOT a cobra!)

  1. A chin stand is not a cobra. In a cobra your legs stay flat on the floor. In a chin stand your hips lift up high and your back bends so much that your feet come up and over toward your head. You balance on your chest, with your chin gently forward and your hands pressing the mat to steady you. Think of your body as a big deep arch with your bottom up in the air.

Get into it slowly

  1. Kneel on the mat and put your forearms flat down in front of you, elbows about shoulder-width apart.
  2. Tuck your toes under and lift your hips up high toward the ceiling, so you're balanced on your forearms with your bottom in the air, a bit like a downward dog, but resting on your forearms.
  3. Keeping your hips lifted, let your chest sink gently down and forward so your back begins to arch. Your weight comes onto your chest and your hands press the mat to hold you steady. Never any weight on your neck.
  4. Now bend your knees and let your feet drop down behind you, toward the back of your head, as your back arches a little more.

How far to go

  1. Let your feet come toward your head only as far as feels like a gentle stretch, never a sharp pain. If it hurts, come down slowly. This is a really bendy one, so go a tiny bit at a time.

Get bendier over time

  1. Hold for just a few seconds at first, then rest. This is a weeks-not-days one: a little more each time.
  2. Keep breathing and stay relaxed. Bendy backs come from calm, gentle practice, never from forcing it.

Coach's tip: this is a bendy one, so little and often, a gentle stretch, never a push, and never any weight on your neck. Always on something soft! ๐Ÿ’œ

Recipe 4: Homemade Pizza

real Poppie words

Before you start

  1. Wash your hands.
  2. Get everything out: a pizza base (I like making my own thin crispy one, but a shop-bought base is perfect too), a small tin of passata or tomato sauce, a ball of mozzarella or a bag of grated cheese, and whatever toppings you fancy.

The sauce

  1. Turn the oven on to hot, about 220ยฐC, so it's ready when you are.
  2. Spoon a few spoons of tomato sauce onto the base and spread it round with the back of the spoon, leaving a little gap round the edge for the crust. Don't drown it: a thin layer is best.

Build it

  1. Tear or sprinkle the cheese all over.
  2. Add your toppings, and here's the chef's rule: don't pile on too much or the middle goes soggy. A few good things beat a mountain of everything.

Bake it

  1. Carefully onto a tray and into the hot oven. A grown-up helps with the oven.
  2. About 10 to 12 minutes, until the cheese is bubbling and the edges are golden. A thin homemade base cooks faster, so check it a couple of minutes early.
  3. Let it cool for a minute (the cheese is like lava straight out), then slice it up with a pizza cutter or clean scissors.

Chef's tip: less is more with toppings. A soggy middle comes from too much sauce and too much stuff piled on. Go easy and the base stays lovely and crisp. ๐Ÿ•

Man Spins 33 Hula Hoops Upside Down For World Record

A man has smashed a world record by spinning an incredible 33 hula hoops at once, all while hanging completely upside down. It takes serious balance, core strength and probably a bit of madness. Utterly bonkers to watch, and proof records get weirder and more brilliant every year.
