Olivia Rodrigo Fans Rescued From Ticket Scalpers

Brilliant news for Olivia Rodrigo fans hoping to catch The Unraveled Tour without being ripped off. Ticketmaster has cancelled a load of tickets that scalpers had snapped up to resell at massive markups, meaning genuine fans can now grab them at the proper face value price instead. Scalping has been a nightmare for gig-goers everywhere, with tickets often reappearing online for triple the price within minutes of going on sale, so this crackdown is a genuine win for anyone who just wants to see their favourite artist without spending a fortune. It shows promoters are finally taking the problem seriously. If you missed out first time round, it might be worth checking Ticketmaster again, because a fresh batch of fairly priced tickets could be exactly what you've been waiting for.

KATSEYE Wins Cardi B's Stamp Of Approval

KATSEYE's summer just got even better, because Cardi B is officially a fan. The rap superstar has been showing serious love for the group's bright, bouncy track Hootie Frutti, giving it a proper co-sign to all her followers. For a girl group still climbing towards the very top, having someone as huge as Cardi B shout about your music is a massive deal, the kind of moment that can send a song shooting up the charts overnight. It comes hot on the heels of KATSEYE's colourful Hootie Frutti video, which already had fans obsessed before Cardi B jumped in. With buzz like this building, don't be surprised if Hootie Frutti becomes the song of the summer everyone's talking about. Keep an eye on the charts, because this one might just be getting started.

Today's Lesson: The Round-Off

real Poppie words

First get your cartwheel good

  1. Only try this once your cartwheel is strong and straight: a round-off is really a fast cartwheel that snaps your feet together at the end.
  2. Warm up properly and use a soft floor with lots of space in front of you.

Set it up

  1. Arms up by your ears, strong leg steps forward into a lunge, just like a cartwheel.
  2. This time you go a bit faster. A little skip (a "hurdle") into it gives you the speed.

The round-off

  1. Hands down one after the other on your line, legs kicking up over the top.
  2. Here's the difference from a cartwheel: at the top, snap your legs together so they meet in the air.
  3. Push hard through your hands and turn, so you land on BOTH feet at the same time, now facing back the way you came.
  4. Land with your arms up and a little bounce, tall and ready.

Get it smooth

  1. Do it slowly first, then add speed bit by bit. Never rush to the fast version before the slow one feels completely safe.

Coach's tip: the snap of your legs together at the top is where all the power comes from. Bring a coach or a grown-up in for this one until it's solid. ๐Ÿ’œ

Recipe 2: Spaghetti Carbonara

real Poppie words

Before you start

  1. Wash your hands.
  2. Get everything out: spaghetti, bacon, 2 eggs, a big handful of grated pecorino romano (or a mix of 1/3 parmigiano and 2/3 pecorino), and the pepper grinder.

The pasta

  1. Big pot of water on to boil with a good pinch of salt.
  2. When it's properly bubbling, spaghetti in. Set a timer for what the packet says, usually about 10 minutes.

The bacon

  1. While the pasta cooks, snip the bacon into little pieces with scissors (way easier than a knife).
  2. Into a big pan on medium heat until it's golden and a little bit crispy. If you like mushrooms, slice a few in with the bacon. They make it even better.

The sauce

  1. Crack the 2 eggs into a bowl, add the cheese and loads of black pepper, and mix it up with a fork. That's the sauce: no cream in a real carbonara, ever.
  2. Just before the pasta is done, scoop out half a mug of the cooking water and keep it. You'll want it in a minute.

Put it together

  1. Drain the spaghetti and tip it into the bacon pan. Now take the pan OFF the heat.
  2. Pour in the egg mix and keep everything moving: the heat of the pasta cooks the sauce until it goes silky.
  3. Too thick? Add a splash of that pasta water you saved.
  4. Into a big bowl, extra cheese on top, done.

Chef's tip: the pan comes OFF the heat before the eggs go in. That's the whole secret. Eggs in a hot pan turn into scrambled eggs, and scrambled eggs are for breakfast. ๐Ÿ

Funny Story of the Day ๐Ÿ˜„

Escaped Calf Leads Police On Wild Chase

A cheeky calf caused chaos when it escaped and led police on a proper chase through a Walmart car park. The clever little cow dodged everyone before disappearing straight into a drainage tunnel, giving officers the slip completely. Talk about a moo-ve nobody saw coming!
